Ever since I was younger I have always struggled with my weight. I was always the "chubby" girl. For a few years through high school I was in the best shape of my life. Through college and the years afterwards, my weight started climbing up and up until I reached a point that I thought I would never reach. Then one morning while I was watching the Today Show, the "Joy Fit Club" segment came on. There was a woman in her mid 50's who had lost 150lbs through diet and exercise and I thought to myself… why can't I do that? It was at that time I decided to contact a local gym that I had seen in a magazine. I went in to meet with the staff and joined the club in March 2009. At first I was a little skeptical because when I said out loud that I wanted to lose 100lbs., it just did not seem possible.

I was always the type to start a diet and then 3-4 weeks later stop because I didn't have the willpower to stick with it. But knowing I was coming to the gym on a weekly basis to be weighed and measured helped to keep motivated and it kept me feeling accountable. Each week as the numbers kept dropping, I was amazed at the fantastic results. Seeing the clothes get looser and looser and the compliments from friends and family kept me going. I finally feel like I am getting my life back. When I was heavier I worried about things I never thought I would worry about… Will I fit into the booth at the restaurant? Will I fit in the airplane seat? Now those things don't even cross my mind. As of December 2009, I have met my goal of losing 100lbs and I plan to continue this journey to lose another 50lbs. I could not have done this without the help of Tanner Gordon at Bounce Athletic Club. If you are wanting to lose weight and don't know where to start, this is the place!
